Moments cheque presentation - 22nd February 2007 Stuart & Rita with the Christmas Raffle 2006. Christmas Party 2006 Fledgling’s first table read Saturday 4th November 2006 After the circle meeting, at Rita & Stuarts home on Tuesday, it was suggested that the fledglings could have a table for readings during the table reads day on Saturday. Along with others at the circle we agreed that we were more than happy to give it a whirl. On Saturday I went along to the hall for the readings, Stuart showed us to the table and said off you go. It was then that I thought “What have I done?” I sat next to Emma who was also as nervous as me. The first person we saw was Jo, with a big beaming smile on her face said “I want a read”, Emma and I looked at each other and “Oh No”. Anyway we started to link with our guides and managed to give Jo her read, she seamed over the moon. The second lady we saw, put us right on the spot, as she sat down she stated that she was “a Medium” this put us under tremendous pressure, in other words we felt she was putting us to the test. She had a writing pad with her and made notes. At the end of the reads she gave us some points to think about. During the reads that followed, we became more relaxed, but then at 1pm Emma said that she had to go. Now I was on my own, in the deep end as such, I had some moral support because Lisa had sat on a chair to my right so that she could do some reads. This wasn’t like doing a read at the meeting where you knew who you were going to. You now had someone sitting in front of you and they wanted you to tell them something. As time past I became somewhat more confident and things started flowing, that was until “Rita” sat on the chair in front of me and said I want a read Jon. Pressure or what, so off I went and again things seem to flow, I was being given things by spirit that seemed to have no reason to me, but they did to Rita. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rita & Stuart for giving me and I am sure I speak for Emma and Lisa as well the chance to have a go at table reading. I would also like to thank the pair of them for all the hard work they do for the centre and spirit. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Jon Woods

Thank you to
everyone who came up (even those who wanted 'no publicity'), it takes
a lot of guts to do this and they all did very well. Well done! The Centres 7th Anniversary
Easter
Egg Collection 2006 Special Care
Baby Unit, SouthendHospital We donated the proceeds of our last fundraiser to the Special Care Baby Unit and have received a letter thanking us for the gifts they did ask us to buy goods rather than donate the cash as if you give them cash it goes into a central fund and the specific unit doesn't end up with the money. These donations
are what happens to your entrance fee and raffle money, Our Christmas Toy appeal 08/12/05
As you can see
the toy collection was quite good but we also gave Patrick a cheque
for £300.00 to go towards providing toys for the under privileged
children in the area. The Taxi Drivers Charity Fund for Children 01/12/05

Day of Reads 09/04/05 We had the Day of
Reads on April the 9th all profits will be going to A Thank you for Healing Dear Rita, Open your eyes and see there is always life I was born in the faith of spiritualist. A Refreshing Look at Life My life changed approximately 18 months ago, changing
for the better when I was introduced to Shoebury Spiritualist Centre.
After never having any idea of what it was all about I agreed to visit
and see if it was of any interest to me. Not knowing anyone I soon
realised that none of us were strangers, just people having not met
yet. I was so warmly welcomed it was if they were expecting me and
greeted me accordingly. A First Time in Circle On the evening of Wednesday 6th April my partner and I went to Stuart and Rita’s home, to have our first experience of sitting in a circle. Once everyone had arrived we were split into two groups, some went with Rita the others, including ourselves were left with Stuart. Stuart told us all what we would be doing, starting with opening up our “Charka’s” and then having some meditation. This started and we sat there with our eyes shut. I was listening to what was being said, as our charka’s were being opened, thinking, “well I can’t see any of this but I will go along with it”. We then progressed into the meditation stage, with Stuart giving us a scene to set in our heads. Again I couldn’t see any of what he was saying. We sat in silence for several minutes, our eyes shut, during this silence several pictures / scenes came into my head but for no apparent reason. When the meditation came to an end, we were asked, one by one, what we saw. When it got to my turn, I explained everything that had happened, it turned out that all of the things that I saw were in or around the area that Stuart had described. Towards the end of the evening a couple of people tried out their skills of standing up and being a medium. During this period I seemed to drift in and out of periods of shutting my eyes. During this time I saw a couple of things, one was to do with balloons the other was a lady. When they had finished I asked Stuart if I could explained what I had just seen, not knowing really, why I had seen these things. Once I had finished explaining what I saw, Stuart ask me to find out some more information on the lady and to explain a bit more about her. It turned out the lady was a relative of Stuart’s. He then ask me to ask how she would have said his name, the reply I got from her and how I said it to Stuart was exactly how she would have spoken to him. When we left to go home in the car, my partner and I talked about the evening and our experiences. I explained that I couldn’t give any reason for what had happened they just did. We both thoroughly enjoyed the evening and cant wait for the next time. Jon Social Services Well, we had the egg collection last night the (10th
